Ditch witch 1330 walk behind trencher sprocket repair

Not sure where else to turn on this. My trencher sprocket wore out on my Ditch witch 1330. Seems like a straightforward fix except when I loosen The bearing support assembly on the shaft it will not slide off, the bolt on the end came off nicely.. It痴 turns freely. Is it possible it痴 worn and there is a lip on the shaft? It痴 seems so straightforward but it simply won稚 come off. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Ditch witch dealers offer no suggestions and there is absolutely nothing I can find online about this.

Do you have an owners manual??

Did you break the chain after you loosened the chain tension?

If you do not have an owners manual you should call ditch witch and order one from them OR go to the books on line club web site to download one after becoming a member for free.

I have the owners manual. It does not remotely cover any of the parts and pieces. Ditch witch dealer says they don’t publish anything as they want to do all the service. What do you mean by break the chain? Take it apart? I have not done that yet. This piece looks so easy to slide off. I just can’t figure out what holding it. It turns freely but simply won’t slide off. Thanks for the info.

The dealer is full of SHmanure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could have down loaded the manual but I did not become a free member of the sight. If it slides on the shaft freely the chain needs to be separated to remove it.

Give me a minute to get the manual so i can upload it.

Call a different DW sales/service center...they vary but most are very helpful and informative...most will actually let you talk to one of the mechanics...I have personally received scanned pages from their service manuals along with tips and tricks they employ...
You can call a DW center in any state and ask questions and order parts...it worth the effort as they are a very good company especially when it comes to personal service...and not just with commercial owners...

You have to heat it up and beat it off. The ditch witch of Birmingham, al is the best. Any problem I have they help me diagnose it, tell me how to fix it, and are always very informative. I'd give them a call from now on. I get free shipping on parts ect. I've never even had to take it to the shop. They have always helped me over the phone or I youtube it. Hole this helps!!

It's because the metal heats up from friction so it expands and seices in place after years of use. Also find all your grease points and give it a nice lube.
