2012 Mahindra 5035 PST
Anyone have experience with a ditch bank (offset rotary mower) on their Mahindra 5035? I am reading about them, but most seem to require cat 2 3 point and are at 50 hp or better minimum. I have a steep roadside ditch and three pond banks to maintain. I don't think my sickle bar is up to some of the saplings that grown there.

The mower company doesn't want you to use to light a tractor as there is considerable weight hanging off of the side of the tractor.

Check out the Ferri ZME 155. You have way more than enough tractor to run it and if it's anything like my conventional flail mower, it will happily chew up 1.5" saplings all day long.

I understand the rationale, but my tractor weighs more than a Kubota M7040...

Use a chain saw on the saplings, then your sickle mower will be OK.

I understand that, but mower manufacturer knows that many of the lower HP tractors aren't heavy enough. I would be cool if they were to put into their specs the words "unless you are mounting the mower on a Mahindra".

Ferri specs both a minimum horsepower and a minimum tractor weight on their mowers.

I too am interested in a boom mower for a 5035. I agree with the others, FERRI is looking like the best option. Here is a link
http://generalimp.com/sites/default/files/product-pdf/ferri_mowers_boom_small_hp.pdf I don't have any idea how accurate the prices are but it does cover the options very well. I'm looking at a Model TD-42.
I have loaded tires So I am well over the minimum weight requirements.

Those boom mowers are pretty awesome, but I was actually talking about the ditch-bank flail mowers:

DITCHBANK FLAIL CUTTERS | General Implement

They're a bit less expensive as long as you are mowing close to the tractor and you aren't trying to reach down over a fence or something.

I wish I could get by with that kind of cutter. I need the reach of a boom mower. Either way Ferri has a good reputation. My problem is there are no dealer anywhere close to me.
