Purchased a new 4540 Mahindra tractor with front end loader and backhoe this spring. The hoe had multiple issues. I kept breaking teeth on the 16" bucket digging tree stumps. Mahindra told me the backhoe wasn't designed to dig tree stumps. However, they gave me bigger teeth and solved my issue.
Next I broke the subframe. This time they told me I abused my equipment by not torquing the bolts and didn't grease the backhoe. I informed them I was a mechanic for decades and that I followed the manual for torquing the bolts at 50 hours and I greased the thing every 8 hours. Just like the Manuel said. They informed me they found one or two bolts lose and that I should have greased about every 4 hours. Long story short, I was stuck with just With about a $700.00 bill. Beware buying Mahindra backhoes. I recently tried to buy a boom cylinder rebuild kit. I was told they didn't sell those. But I could try and find someone who could possibly rebuild the cylinder on my own.

If you look at all the 'plates' and stickers on the hoe, you should be able to find out if it is built by BradCo [ Palidin ], KMW [ Kansas Machine Works ]. or whatever. That is who you should be trying to source the rebuild kit. Barking at Mahindra is not as good as going right to the source of the implement. Good luck, Jerry... :)

My dealer rebuilt the boom cylinder on my 3710 backhoe, built by KMW.

How many hours are on the machine? Sounds like a lot of damage in what seems to be a short amount of time.

What attracted you to the Mahindra in the first place?
Surely you made an informed decision to purchase??
:wrench:

Personally, I want to see pics of the "broken subframe"...My BH (Bradco) on the 6000 has subframe that looks like it was built for an Abram's tank...BobG in VA

The teeth.....are the shanks actually breaking off the bucket (the welded part)? Or are you just loosing the pin-on or crimp on tips?

Big difference. You shouldn't be breaking the shanks off the bucket. But the pin/crimp on teeth are a replaceable wear item. And its understandable loosing some of them doing some hard stumping.

The subframe: What actually broke? Got pics? A subframe bolted on with 8 or 10 bolts per side....maybe 15-20 in total....I dont see a couple being a little loose being the cause.

The cylinder. How many hours? Why do you feel it needs rebuilt already?

I think the 4550B is an Ansung unit. Contact Ansung and ask for seal kit 7040. Should be the right one for the ANSBH86A098100 cylinder.

It's made in Korea.

130 hours. The hoe drops to the ground in less than a minute while trying to operate the tractor. The hoe isn't Harvey enough for the tractor. I sold my Ford 1700 with a backhoe and never had any problems.
