i had the same problem with direct tv; that's why i ended up with dish network..they were a lot easier to deal with, and gave me the network channels with no hassle.

Richard, It's just a blur of development on the North side all the way to Dayton.. there was an article in last month's or the month before National Geographic about urban sprawl. This area was mentioned as one of the most active. Check it out if you can. Here's part of the story, http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/data/2001/07/01/html/ft_20010701.3.html

RichZ, to get a network feed, don't you have to get the approval from the local network affiliate first?

Interesting article, thanks for posting it.

Indeed, where I grew up, I was at edge of the city. After the back yard & creek and you were in "farmland".

Today, that same space is all developed, 4 lane roads etc..

simply amazing.

I suspect what compounds it is my living in/near Knoxville. A land that time has forgot or at least slowed down for. (that isn't a criticism)
