Dip Stick location on 05 JD790

I recentlybought a used JD790 with the 82 Cu Inch Diesel, for the life of me I cannot locate the dip stick. I have a manual and it shows on the side of the engine oposite the exhaust manual protruding up alongside the engine side cowling but it is not there? Any ideas??

Should be just to the left of the oil filter...

It's a bugger to see no doubt, just wait till you have to reinsert it.
