Well after looking at firewood bags for a couple years i finally broke down and ordered a box of 10 for a trial run. i split the order with my neighbor who is pictured below. These bags are big enough to to hold 1/3 of a cord or a face cord loosely tossed into the bag. After today's experience We both decided we are going to order at least 10 more bags each. These bags are an open mesh construction to allow drying to occur It will be awesome in the future to just split and toss wood into the bags completely eliminating having to pick up the the wood and stack it after splitting. And since i can load the bags into a truck it makes delivering it easy only have to unload it by hand.
Neighbor Purchased a cord of ash from me and my buddy as he is almost of out of wood. An 8 foot box would be perfect and would easily hold 2 of these bags in theory 2 would fit in a standard bed
My Kubota does'nt even come close to clearing a 7 foot door with the exhaust stack he used his 8N to slide the pallets into this garage as it won't lift it completely off the ground. He has a separate work shop in the back of his garage with a wood gasification boiler used to heat the house
Next step is to build a stand to hold the bags up to allow for quick and easy loading of the bags.
