Kubota L3130 HST, LA723 loader w/ QuickAttach
Just rolled 100 hours on my L3130. Has performed flawlessly up to this point. I had the bucket curled down and with the toothbar I was pushing a small pile of root - trying to get all the soil out of them - when BANG the top metal hydraulic tube on the load let go - sounded like a .22! A fine mist of hydro fluid filled the air and I knew I was in trouble.

Called my dealer - he is overnighting one (should of been here last night - UPS for ya) Should be taken care under warranty though - real pain in the neck because the excavation guy is here finishing up my 4 acre field. I gotta sit around and just watch him have all the fun! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Wow! Glad you weren't hurt - sounds like no major damage. Broken hydraulic lines can be darn dangerous - it sounded like a .22 becuase the force being released was probably considerably more than a .22 being fired.

Too bad about your downtime, but it is better to know you'll be up and running soon than to have something really damaged (like you or your tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

I assume you mean the hydraulic cylinder tube itself blew out ?
Thats something you don't see happen too often.
This is a perfect example of why to never stand under lifted loader and bucket. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You never know what can happen !!

clarification please! are u saying the hydraulic cylinder barrel let go? or one of the metal lines from cylinder to loader? glad o were not hurt , that high press stuff can get nasty. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

A good freind of mine blew a steel line on the bucket on his brand new Kubota L3430 cab tractor as he was tilting the bucket down with no load!. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif He had been using the bucket to remove some small brush and leaves from his brothers yard and just as he finished, the line blew.

His line seemed to be made from seamed tubing, was yours? and if so did it break along the seam as his did?

Wonder how many of these lines have broken that we have not heard about here?

Kubota obviously replaced the line on his tractor under warranty (less than 10 hours on tractor) and he is up and running again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I really hope that they are not using seamed tubing, it has proven to be inferior to seamless tubing everytime in my experience.

It was the hydraulic metal line that let go, not the cylinder. I am glad the hole was facing away that is for sure.
Getting a little upset!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif - still havent got the part, the dealer's part guy had it overnighted directly from Kubota to my house. He sees that Kubota has charged the dealership, but Fedex hasnt seen it yet. AND its a three day weekend and I planned on york raking my new 4 acre field.
I guess I will just have to stain the deck /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

OK, I quess I missunderstood.
I thought you meant the cylinder itself let go.

If your going to York rake, could you not simply remove the loader? It comes off very, very easy.

Well, my dealer found my part - it is in a town in Pennsylvania with the same name as my town! Maybe I have a twin in the Keystone state that I don't know about /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I should have the part TODAY - I am told. Did get the half the house primed this weekend though so the wife is happy with me.!
