Differential lock pedal

I don't have tractor in front of me to see how this works, does this lock the spider gears in rear axle?

I need this on some of my cars if so

Most all will lock the spider gears in one way or another, and from the vid it also does it that way. Do not have direct knowledge of this machine, but most the time the lock is broken in other machines, its from having the wheels spinning and the lock is engaged. Construction backhoes get broken in the same manner.

On trucks, usually you have an electronic or air operated solenoid that "locks" that particular axle.

Don't make turns with the diff lock depressed. It isn't good for it.

It seems some models are so weak just using it isn't good for it.

Like trying to engage it while one of the rear wheels is already spinning. Who knows, without details? :confused3:

I watched the video and some others, Ive researched on google as well but still unclear.

Am I supposed to press this pedal when Im losing traction?

I used my tractor today to pull trees out of the woods, biggest issue was not enough traction, I didnt want to damage the tractor since I still wasnt clear on how the pedal is supposed to be used.

Make sure you are completely stopped and neither rear wheel is moving, then step on the pedal and gently press on the treadle to see if that helps. If it does, you are golden. If not try 4WD, if that doesn't help, try all three. Still no help, time to break out the come along.

You say press on the pedal and then press on the treadle? Where is the treadle? I have 2WD
