They are basically interchangeable and both end in 71600. The tao43 is better built and has 2 red lines running the length, and cost about $20 more. The t1855 has thicker looking element and cheaper gasket. Any information on the difference? Both are kubota brand factory filters.

Impossible to know without knowing the design specification for each and I never seen these published. Considering they fit the same applications, they must meet Kubota's minimum requirements, so I would buy the lower cost one. In either case the cost is a bit high considering these are only filtering cabin air.

Too bad the more expensive one isn't a HEPA filter or something that might benefit the operator.

Hope someone can provide the details you're looking for.

There is slight visual difference in media material. As far as hepa I think it would be too restrictive for our hvac systems.

100% correct. The HEPA would be a hepa junk in about a day in the field. In fact I find the entire HEPA thing to be mostly advertising hype. Kubota offers a spray grade charcoal filter but it's not a cheap date.
