As noted in a post yesterday, I cannot seem to operate the diff lock on a new to me Dahto Buck S470. The pedal to operate the diff lock sits on a set screw or bolt. Seem slike there should be some play there, but there is not. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the operator's manual?

Yes. When I follow the instructions it does not move at all. I assume the foot lever is supposed to push the piece attaced to engage the diff lock. I cannot get that attached piece to move.

Thanks,

John

How old is the tractor? It could be siezed inside, especially if the diff lock hasn't had much use...

I had similar issues with a diff. lock on a Beaver. The bolt holding the pedal was actually bent down so it was resting on the stop and hence couldn't be engaged. All the problems were on the outside of the gearbox thankfully (even though I ended up taking it completely apart anyway) so don't get discouraged. Just take apart what you can on the outside and try to work the piece going into the gearbox with some WD-40 or similar. I'll bet you'll get it going.
