Diesel Pump & Fuel StorageTank Filter

Just got me a nice 55 gallon cube type diesel fuel storage tank and Great Plains Industry hand pump with 12 ft. hose and nozzle for $75. I want to install a 5 micron fuel filter on the set up. Any ideas or suggestions?????? Looking for as much info. as possible. Thanks for any replies.

I'm trying to get set up to pump from a drum also. Have two 30 gallon drums as I think they'll be easier to handle after filling than the 50G. I have a hand pump with 3/4" fittings and bought a "Goldenrod" filter separator today for about $30.00 Don't know about the micron, but it has a clear bowl that allows you to see any water trapped and drain it from the bowl, with a replaceable filter element. Canister type filter separators are easy to find but I prefer to be able to SEE accumulations of water in the bowl and change the element. Found this at a local jobber that specializes in fuel pumping systems.

Here is a picture of the refueling rig I finally came up with. I bought a 10 micron Golden Rod filter at TSC along with a filter install kit. The tank holds 55 gal., the pump is a Great Plains Industries unit along with the hose and nozzle. The wagon I got at TSC for $76. All of the components you see can be purchased at TSC. I found a local petroleum distributor and filled the tank and a 30 barrel up with off road diesel for 95 cents a gallon. I had to fill out a paper for agricultural use and waiving sales tax.

A buddy of mine made a similar rig called the "Weed Wagon" for spraying weeds around his house. He put a 15-gallon sprayer in it and powered it up with an ATV battery. I borrowed it last year and it worked wonders. Since he was dragging the thing around by hand, he felt 15-gallons was a good limit.

I use a Petro Clear filter. The model number for the filter I use is 40530W, which includes water protection. If you give these guys a call, I'm sure they can set you up with the proper filter base...
