Diesel Motor Oil Spec\'s
Attached is an Excel Spreadsheet I compiled with a number of relevant diesel oil performance measurements. This is as many as I could find at various producer websites.. Not all producers provide consistent performance characteristics or some not at all such as Texaco, Sunoco, Amalie. etc. No one measurement is "Best" you need to put several together based on your individual needs, equipment, climate which might include Viscosity, pour point and TBN. You can order or sort the catagories as you wish... You might be surprised at some of the numbers. Again, these were provided by the Mfg.s and many stated these were average test results. A couple of pointers.
Higher Viscosity is Good.
Higher TBN is Good (to a point dependent on ash content)
Lower Ash Content Good
Lower Pour Point Temperature Good (stated in Farenheit)
Higher Flash Point Temperature Good (stated in Farenheit)
NOTE: Spreadsheet did not come across... will retry when reconfigured....
