"Just one more cut" she heard me say and off I was on my 425 cutting the grass for the first time.

I was suprised that the tractor had plenty of power for what I wanted to do. As long as I didn't put my foot ALL the way into it, I could even go up a 15 degree slope while mowing with no problems.

I'm happy so far /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was impressed with the "mulching"........unless I let my grass get too high I don't see any wind rows, my rake is now in semi-retirement. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've found that with the mower on slopes, if I'm having some traction problems going up hill(as I do in our sand on our property, I'll first back off the foot pedal a bit. If that doesn't work, I'll slightly lift the mower deck. Just a slight lift will put enough extra weight on the front tire to get it up the hill. It goes up some pretty good slopes, so I can only imagine what the newer machines with the bigger wheel motors can do. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good point. Weight transfer to the front wheels, kinda like my old Ventrac.

I had cut the grass so late that by the time I was done, it was getting pretty dark. When I left for work this morning, I took a peek and am pretty satisfied.

BTW: I had the deck at the lowest cut and it did not bog down at all.

Now that you have had the pt for awhile, how do the ventrac compare? Dale
