Tractor
Husqavarna CZ1740, Case 1825 Skid and Kubota B2920 TLB
After about a month of deliberation and lost sleep etc I bought my first tractor yesterday.

I found a used B 2920 with 135 Hours on it. It has a the FEL + Back Hoe on it with a Mechanical Thumb and a sunshade on the ROPS. It has filled tires as well. It came with a 6 mo old 40" Woods Kodiak Bushhog and a 6 mo old Yard Box as well. He had all the manuals some spare fuel filters, air cleaner and Kubota Hydraulic and Engine oil as well.

I got the entire setup for 15k and Hauled it home yesterday.

I'm pretty excited to build a grapple bucket for it and use it.

Sounds pretty good to me except the 40" bush hog sounds too small for that tractor

Used tractor prices are all about condition. Sounds like a good price for a nice machine. The brush hog may be small but if you are weaving in and out of trees, it will be a asset. On hills a heavy brush hog can make the front end light as well.

Sounds like a very good price if it is in good condition; agree the rotary cutter is a bit small, but you could sell it and buy another or nothing wrong with trying it out to see how well you like it; might be surprised.

It's a 2012 model and the guy took excellent mechanical condition of the tractor and had it serviced on the intervals. He did use it as a tractor so it has 2 small cosmetic issues right now.

They are:
*A brick fell out of the FEL and hit to hood which resulted in a small (quarter size) dent next to the hood emblem and a scratch on the front left headlight lens. (Might pull the hood and get the hammer/dolly out to see if I can get it back into shape.)
*The hood is sun faded so I need to wash the entire tractor and wax/polish it.

I will give the 40" a shot. I'm hoping to clear some ATV trails on the farm and it might be a good size for that but I have no idea.

I plan on grabbing pics tomorrow. I had a Honey Do project today but I did use the FEL to hold up the side of a pergola I was finishing for my wife so its already doing work for me. :)

What sparked this purchase was renting a small Kubota Mini Ex (the smallest they make) to dig up some sewer lines. After running it for about 8 hours I decided I'm not interested in using shovels etc to dig anymore.

Prices vary by region, but i think thats a very good deal. I got mine at a year old with bh, fel and maybe 70 hours and it was considerably more expensive, though flawless (most things like the bh or 3pt never were used).

Great deal for Ontario Canada prices! You could sell that here for about $24K no problem

My son in law bought a 2920 last year and if I recall he said that the tractor was $14,900. He got a 60" belly mower, FEL and tiller(dont know the size of that) for around $20K. Backhoes usually run $5000-7500 depending on size of the unit. I would say you aced that deal.

In that condition, it sounds like a really good deal. The 40" will work fine, it will just not cover your tracks and will take longer in a larger field. Whether it is right for you will depend on which you prefer to spend, money or time. Good over all deal even without the cutter.

I think you did well. That backhoe is a good size for that tractor. Fix the hood and headlight, polish her up and keep her under over. She will treat you well for a long time. Good job. Very nice. A thumb on the backhoe to boot!

Sounds like a pretty darn good deal to me.

I ran a 48" brush hog on the back of my B3030 for a couple years. I would have liked wider, but with all the trees I had to go around, any bigger and it would have been a huge pain. As it was, even the 4 footer was a pain getting around the trees. I sold the brush hog & now have a 64" cut flail that is 6' wide overall.

If you have wide open fields to mow, you'll probably eventually want to go with a 60" brush hog, but if you have a lot of trees to navigate through, you won't want anything bigger than that 40"

Nice machine and if you aren't sure you got a good price, I'll take if off your hands for what you paid for it.

You beat me to it. I was going to say, if only he didn't need a tractor he could probably turn a nice profit!

That's not hood damage, that's a Battle scar.
