Dewalt DCF890 20V XR 3/8" Compact Impact Wrench

Anyone tried one of these?

Looks like it would be handy, but I'm not sure it is any more powerful than the DCF887 1/4" 3-speed Impact Driver.

Unless your considering one only because of the battery platform there are better options of 3/8" cordless impact wrenches. Dewalt is rated at @150 ftlbs, the similar Milwaukee is 220 ft. (I have that one) And of course the though pricy Ingersoll Rand even more, is rated over 300 ft lbs.

If price is factor to consider the newly released Earthquake 3/8 cordless impact kit with one 4.0 lithium battery from HF is around the same money a bare tool XR Dewalt and is currently rated way over 300ft lbs. though that remains to be seen. Hopefully Real Tool Reviews will video test one for working torque and dynamic torque soon on the Skidmore machines he has.

I have the DeWalt and love it, it has a plenty of torque for what most of us need.You have to be careful to not over torque lug nuts and it will twist off smaller bolts. I just wish it had torque adjustment like most of the driver/drills have.I have trouble trying to drive screws with it because of this but I have other tools for that and use this mainly for wrenching.
I also have the 1/4" drive unit, which I got in a kit, but it breaks the 1/4" drive adaptors.

I was about to order the DCF890 when I found this Video. Doesn't sound good.

Mac Tools lists an MCF891 that looks interesting, but apparently it's not available for purchase.

I guess I'll wait and check out the upcoming 1/2" mid-range DCF894HB.
