What weight Motor oil should go in the Deutz? From the online manual it looks like 20W-20, but I never heard of that before. Are you all running synthetic? I know it takes a lot, so I would probably use conventional.

I searched around the forum but I couldn't find any posts about it.

I use a diesel rated 15W-40.

I use 10 40 Synth... We don't get too cold up here (28 at the lowest, sometimes a rare 14 at 3AM)

I would want a 30 or 40 weight oil.. We use 0w40 synthetic because it gets cold here but you could probably use a 15w40 or a 10w30 conventional diesel oil.. Synthetic oil is worth the extra money thou if you are in it for the long run

You might not want to use a synthetic until it is broken in. Some engines are broken in at the factory but I do not know that these are. I personally would want to put at least 50 or maybe 100 hours on it first before using synthetic.

I use 15W40 diesel, API CJ-4.

I agree with Ken that you probably want a few hours on a Deutz before switching to synthetic, but that's a gut feeling based on the manual not specifically calling for synthetic.

All the best,

Peter
