Hello,
I have a Deutz d5506. After sitting for extended periods this winter, trying to get the old girl going. Starts up fine and shifts fine into forward in both low and high, however, when I try to shift into reverse it will not go. The shifter itself seems to seat fine into the reverse position, and I can tell I'm moving the tractor out of neutral into reverse because when i try to release the clutch to go into reverse, it's like the wheels are trying to go into reverse but are obstructed and if I try this long enough I stall out the tractor. It's almost like when you try to engage with parking brake on, though it is not the parking brake (my parking brake has never worked since I bought the tractor). The wheels will not move at all, even a little but the engine is trying to push them in reverse.
Anyone have any idea what problem this sounds like or how to start to trouble shoot? Thanks for your advice
