1994 - 3930
This is my first post here, so hopefully it will help. I recently bent the hydraulic fluid dipstick tube on our 1994 - 3930 - 2wd.
In my discussions with the repair person we use for our equipment, he mentioned either.........
a) Fabricating a new tube.
b) running a small diameter die through the tube.
or
c) installing a sight glass to check the level.

One of my concerns is getting the level correct with a fabricated tube.
One is "splitting" or damaging the tube by pulling a die through it.
One is locating the sight glass in the proper location.

Does anyone know a reference point on the external surface where the fluid level should be?

"C" seems to be the best option to me.
Has anyone done this on the same model tractor we have? Or the same issue?

Thanks in advance
BK

Welcome to the Forum! (y)

I would tend to go with option A. Easy enough if you have the original tube--Just copy it.

Do you have a manual for it? My 3910 has plugs on the side of the trans and rear cases. Remove the plug and fill until it runs out. To check, the trans has a dip stick, but the rear case doesn't. I just loosen the plug. If oil starts to run out, it's full.

The rear end is the same on the 3910 and the 3930 should have the pipe plug on the rh side to check level.

Rather pricey replacement tube at $219.

Yep - $219 --- kinda like that lottery ticket a couple of weeks ago ---- should have bought it when it was still available from the Man ...........

The tube was once a lazy "S" shape but now is now a very sharp reversed "Z" --- I guess Texas Huisache and Mesquite does a little more than just putting thorns in your tires and Multiseal wont help on this snafoo.

Tinhack --- I was surprised for the first response on your location. We are "next door neighbors" about 75 / 80 miles from Lytle - due East from you.
Home base is in Pilgrim, Texas.
Gonzales County.

Thank BOTH of ya'll. Never thought of a fill / level plug. I will definitely be lookin for it.

I'll also be frequenting the site often. Just looking at some of the titles and subjects that popped up, there is a WEALTH of discussion going on in here..
