When the loader (LA211) was new the amount of force it took to get past the detent to the "float" position was considerable with a very positve feeling that you were going past it. Now with approx 20hrs on the loader it seems the detent is non- existent taking very little force to get to the "float" position. This is not a major problem, but during operation can be a little troublesome. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. Jeff

I haven't noticed the detent problem, but I have noticed that when using the stick, it does not return to center as readily as it used to.

Perhaps our problems have a similar cause? Some adjustment or lube point we aren't able to reach?

I have the same problem. I have 40 hours on the tractor so I will send it back to the dealer in 10 hours to have them look at it.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed the same thing on my LA272/B7400HSD after about 25 hours. The float setting still works, but it is harder to tell when you are in it because the feedback from the valve is much less. It doesn't bother me enough to take it back to the dealer 30 miles away.

Does the valve stay in the float position or do you need to force the lever and hold it in the forward position to maintain float?

Mine will not stay in the float position unless I hold it there.

No the valve does not stay in the float position, but I had the the same thought. That is, it did stay in the float position when it was new w/out having to be held there. I'm wondering if there is not some way of adjusting the valve. I tried removing the cover over the valve once and there is one screw that is not accessable with a srew driver so I never went the extra mile to get it off, but now maybe I will. I also will be giving the dealer a call in the morning and try to get some info. They have been very good w/ questions I've had in the past. I will post any info I get.

Mine started doing this around 25 hours.

There was another threard regarding this several months ago.

I thought the solution was a new valve, though don't quote me on it. I'm interested in hearing what your dealer says. I think I will call my dealer tomorrow and see what they say too.

I too will follow up on this thread.

After just a few hours on my 5030 I noticed the joy stick lever was hard to get into the float position. Then the next week it would not stay in the float position. The dealer came out and lubricated the detent and it has work fine since. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just got off the phone with the service manager at dealer. He told me that when the lever is past the detent and in the float position it should remain locked there until operator pulls it back. I asked if there was anything I could take a part and look at and he advised against it because it is still under warrenty. He says tractor needs to come in for repair..Yippee.
