Well you all have convinced me to get a Branson/Century. Now it is up to which dealer can give me the best deal. I have a few questions, especially for you dealers out there. How does delivery get figured into the price? Is it free delivery up to X miles or a charge per mile? Most of the dealers are at least 2 to 3 hours away and I'm thinking hauling a tractor cannot be cheap. Second, do you think I could get a better deal if I ordered the tractor and had time to wait (2 to 3 months?), could the tractor be drop shipped to the house? Third, if there is a warrenty issue (lets say the tractor won't start) and the dealer needs to work on it, is it my responsibility to get the tractor to his dealership? That could greatly influence who I go through. Thanks, I would appreciate your input.

I will delever up to 100 miles USUALLY free of charge.. That means if the coustomer has already beatten me up pretty bad, I got to have something for delevery.

I guess I don't understand (ordered the tractor and had time to wait(2 to 3 months)............ If I knew what the prices (cost) would be 90 days from now, I would not be here. I would be on an island somewhere with a funny looking drink in one hand, a phone in the other, saying things like "sell", "buy", "hedge" , "put" ..... "make sure my supper is ready at 7:00".

Drop shipped to the house? no. The dealer needs to prep the machine first. We will check'em out real good and and then work them for about an hour before the machine is put on the line.

The warranty clearly states that all warranty work will be preformed at the dealer. Now that I said that, I will also state that I do some warranty work in the field. It's up to the dealer and you on what kind of deal ya'll can hammer out.

Chose a dealer you can work with. Don't try to put him out of buisness. He needs to be there for you -- years from now. If you cannot work with a particular dealer , then go somewhere else.. even if it means getting a "differant color" machine.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm used to ordering a car, not tractors. If a dealer has what I want but with R1 tires and I want R4 tires, is it a big deal to put the R4 on them? Also, how much difference in price is there between the R1 and R4? A lot of people have mentioned the prices they paid for their tractors, but they don't always mention the type of tires; is a sizeable amount?

Most larger dealers simply swap tires & wheels with existing inventory. Smaller dealers might tale awhile, in any case the pricing should be a zero sum option.

Actually there can be a price difference between tires. Some R4's cost us dealers more due to the fact they are a more ply tire than Ag. Cost usually varies from model to model. Some R4's are about $600 more than Ag and some are priced just the same. Also depending on how good a deal you’re getting on the tractor and if the dealer doesn't have those tires in stock he may have to charge you some freight to cover his expenses. So don't be surprised if it cost a little more for the R4's, the dealer can't always through these in for free.
