Deluxe Light Kit for CX Gator

Well I looked on eBay and they get $242 plus $15 S/H for the light kit. Is there another source? I sometimes find things cheaper at my local JD dealer. But does anyone have suggestions. Why the light kit? We are going to use down at the lake property and on the road, back and forth to the golf course and dock areas, and I think it would be safer. Thank you. Bill in Iowa

A dealer will charge you $254.00 (list price) so you will only save 2 dollars. Might be worth your gas to get from e-bay. Make sure you get a newer kit. when they brought out the 2006 CX gator with rear suspension they didn't change the kit. The wiring harness was too short and you will have to make an extension. Don't ask me how I found out. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply.... thinking now just to get the Brake/tail light kit its $100 less and it would then be equal to all the golf carts running around on the roads. Concerned about driving at night need the tail and brake lights.

Sorry if I gave you the impression that I own one. I have an old 4x2 gator. I work for a dealer and do setup from time to time. I think the cx gator is almost bullet proof. We send them out and they don't come back. Thats the best thing you can say about that machine. It looks like you have a pre 2006 machine so you should be in good shape on whatever kit you buy. Have fun!

ya my john deere gator cs just keeps going it has 800hr on it 200 of those hr
were snow plowing a 1/2 mile driveway.

and it still runs like its brand new.

How much snow do you get in BC? I'm thinking a blade on the front of my CX for moving some snow, but the machine only has 10 HP. I'm assuming the blade would either be manual lift or winch.

Well I got it installed. One of the worse JD Kit installs I have ever done. Very time consuming and you better have some mechanical figuring out skills, as you will need. But now I have working brake lights all the time the engine is running, and tail/headlights when you turn on the dash mounted switch. For safety reasons, if you drive at night on or near roads, you need this light kit.

Now my other question, and I will start a new thread later on, is adding a nice snow blade to the front end, and I know JD makes one, I have no idea of the cost or how it raises up and down? Anybody? Thank you all for the help.

I have the JD V-plow on my HPX. Deere plows are pricey, but use a hydraulic up with down pressure blade lift. There's a thread not too far back in this forum with pics of mine and a snowplowing report.
