I have a Kubota M5-111 that is 6 years old and has 900 hours on it. It has started giving me problems and errors associated with the DEF system. Are there any disadvantages to deleting one?

Are there any shops around the East Texas area thst does this?

I have read many stories that when the DEF system starts acting up- be ready to spend lots of $$$$ on them. I have found a person to do it, but they are quite aways from where I live

No shop or individual located in the states is going to advertise doing anything to effect the epa mandated so called emission controls. They will be hammered down by the government oppressors. Tunes and tuned ecm's can be found and bought from over seas vendors along with information to defeat or bypass the devices. Most of the sensors are voltage divider types which can be "simulated".

If I was faced with this, I'd have no problem shelling out the money to delete them. I bet the cost to repair is at least as much as a delete, and you're still faced with the same repair again later.

A highway vehicle would be a different story, but a tractor used on my own property and not subject to inspections would be a no-brainer. The only other issue that would factor into this decision is you're planning to sell or trade it anytime soon. On a low hour 6 yo tractor or selling/trading to a dealership, folks want things original. If you sell it another 10 years from now, nobody will care if it has all the emissions equipment and most private buyers will probably appreciate that it doesn't. The DPF and SCR systems do not have a good reliability history and are proving to be costly to repair.

Agricultural equipment itself, makes up such a small portion of the NOx and particulate emissions. In fact, you could argue that the particulate emissions from the engine is a drop in the ocean compared to the practice of tilling the soil itself. I don't know why this equipment was ever required to have it in the first place.
