del-vac vs mobile 1 5w40

anybody know what the difference is between del vac and Mobile 1 5w 40 turbo diesel oil is? Is there a difference or is it the same oil in different containers?

Same oil different package. Delvac is their heavy trucking industry line while Mobil 1 is their normal consumer line.

one thing I noticed , Delvac looks like it meets everyoil specand test known to man

yeah , they didn't state that it passes harley Davisons 360 rating, must not be any good.

OTOH they are listing the main commercial ones that most end users recognize.

the ones that say its meets or exceeds CATS, CUMMINS,DETROITS,MACK, specs ETC...

Delvac is CI-4+; the other is CI-4.

Neither one meets CJ-4 which looks to me like the latest API rating.

then it makes one wonder if there is a new classification yet.

last time I read about the new oils in Fleet Owner, it was unclear what the 2007 oils would be rated at and the oil industry was call ing those 07 oils

PC-7, proposed category 7.

either way, you don't suppose Exxon Mobil wont be able to manufacture a lubricant that wont meet the specs.

The rating exists. Check it out on the link. If you don't have a particulate filter, you don't need it.
