The skid shoes for my Woods RB60 rear blade attach with deformed thread nuts. The nuts have a small triangle on one of the faces of the nut at one edge. Does it matter which way you install the nut, triangle in or out?

Put the deformed part out.
U will have a hard time starting nut the other way.

Thanks, Tim!

There are left and right attachment posts. Would you happen to know if the shoes should be angled towards the center of the blade or towards the outside? The instructions mention left and right, but don't indicated which side of the blade this is from. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Mike these are commonly refurred to as "locking nuts" they can only be started one way...useally with the crimp or nylon side starting last...as far as the shoes go are they marked l or r?best bet would be look at another simular as yours... Sid

Sid, thanks for the info. Yes, the parts were marked, but the instructions were less than clear as to which direction I should view the blade for determining left from right. The Woods site doesn't show any blades with skid shoes.

Usually left and right are designated as if you were sitting on the seat (tractor) and facing forward (not looking back).

Someone corrected me on a previous post,they are angled IN at the top.
Woods reasoning is when blade is angled or turning they won't dig in.

Here's the response I received from Woods;
It does not make any difference which direction the angle points for installation. The right and left designation is for our production department.
