Deere 790 Injection pump needed

I need a pump for my 08 790 - it's bad - hoping to find a used one if possible - as a rebuild is almost $1800. I think this is the later style 790 rotary pump (injectors are in a triangle shape vs in-line) Yanmar part #719934-51310

Have you inquired about having the old IP rebuilt by a diesel pump repair shop?

Yeah, it was $1800. We found a used one for $500. If anyone needs a core pump...

How many hours were on that 790 when the injection pump failed? Is it common? Is that something I have to look forward to with my 3005 (new mdl number for 790)?

Not a common problem. Keep clean fuel with out any water and replace the filters on schedule and you should be good. I use the Power Service fuel treatment which also helps. There are other treatments that are good too.
