I went to look at a new Deere a few days ago and I was very suprised by the price. I though it was some type of mistake but I thought I would run it by you guys to see what you think. What I looked at was a brand new 5325 cab tractor with a 553 loader. It has th 9/3 tranny and MFWD, dual rear mid and rear scvs, cold weather package, 540E pto and telescoping draft links.

And for the price they quoted me $38,700.

What do you think?

what do i think? i think you should go write them a check Monday morning! Deere is really trying to move the 5025 series right now. theyre offering 3 different deals and you pick one that fits you best. sounds like he gave you the cash back rebate. the other rebates are 0% for 48 months, cash back on implements, or a free JD MX7 bush hog. this is off the top of my head, so just go to deere.com and read up on it. i have the 9/3 syncshuttle tranny on my tractor and LOVE it. people seem to want to go for the power reverser alot, so maybe thats why this tractor has such a good price as it doesnt have the popular tranny. dont be fooled though, that 9/3 is a breeze to operate.

I forgot to mention that the price includes liquid ballast in the rears.

This is the 0% for 48 financed price! That is why I thought they made a mistake, if they price it any lower they will be paying me to haul it off the lot. When the manager handed the salseman the quote there was genuine surprise when he saw the number. And me being the superior negotiator I am said "that's it" I did not leave much credibility for myself if I was going to try and haggle it down more did I?

I discovered a problem with this particular tractor though, it has the standard transmission that is not very favorable for loader work. The main reason that I need the tractor is for loader work. They have a 5083E Limited on the lot also and it has the 12/12 power Reverser that we are talking about now. That setup is much better for loader tasks. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised again by the price of that one.

no need to haggle with that price you were quoted. just pull out the check book and say "load 'er up". from what i know, that is the absolute rock bottom price, he's basically just getting it off of his lot. i ran into that same deal on my 5203 MFWD. the price i was quoted and the trade in i was given, there was just no way i could say no. plus 0% for 48 months and i would have been a fool to walk away and keep my broken tractor. as for loader work, let me ask you this. will you be doing commercial loader work or loader work around your house/farm? is time of the essence? in other words is this tractor going to be used for your business/farm or is it going to be more for a "hobby" and get used around your house, etc? if it's just going to be used on your land, then i think you should be fine with the syncshuttle 9/3 transmission. i dont have a loader on my tractor but plan on getting one in the future. i will be just fine with my syncshuttle 9/3. now the power reverser is the cats meow, but it's also about a $5000 option and just wouldnt be worth it in my uses. i use my tractor for more field work then anything else so the 9/3 is ideal for my uses. either way, youre going to be getting a heck of a tractor. the 5083 hes going to quote you on has a bit more hp then does the 5325(67hp) so consider that. i would guess youre looking at a price of $45000

The tractor will be commercial only! Right now I live on .17 acres in a Nashville suburb. I don't know if that thing will get through the gate! My main business is land clearing and I want the tractor to help dig out and smooth slash piles and drag stumps and such. I know that a tractor is not the best solution for this but I am also getting some land soon that the tractor would come in real handy.

I am looking at 165 acres that has been clear cut and if I get that I would start turning it into cattle land but that is definately on the back burner.

John Deere Tractor Packages-Tractor Package-Coufal Prater-TX

Check that price out! Pay cash and add a loader and you are still only at about $40kor less with incentives. If I can get it for $40k I will be rollin green. I got an F-350 and a 10 ton goose, I will pick it up and haul it off before they can change thier mind.

I paid 37100 for a 5325, 542 loader, quick hitch, install 3rd remote on back, 12x12 tranny, 4wd, no cab, telescoping links, economy PTO in August 2008.

Even though you are getting the 9X3 but are getting a cab, I would say you have a deal.

The old 9X3 crash box trannies not worth squat for loader work (I have one). I have not used the new 9X3 synchronized so can't say what loader work is like with those. Maybe someone who has done a lot of loader work with one can comment. The 12X12 is great.

You will like the 5325--a really nice machine with plenty of power in my mind. I have a
Bush hog blade that takes 3 remotes--it and the 5325 nearly makes a motorgrader (not quite but ok for me)

They found me a 5425 with a 12/12 about an hour away and they are getting the price together for me. The salesman said that he thinks it will be a couple thousand more but did not know for sure.

The price sounds good, but I would highly recommend the power-reverser transmission for your uses. Manual shuttle gets old really fast for loader work or tight spaces.

What is your transportation setup? The tractor you describe plus an FEL will probably weigh around 9k with loaded rears. You won't be moving it in safety and comfort (i.e. with any margin to spare) with anything smaller than a 1-ton pickup, and commercial duty truck (GMC4500/Ford F450 or similar) would be preferable.

I have upgraded my wishlist to a 5425 with a power reverser so I think you are right in your advice. I have an F-350 DRW with a 6.4L PSD and an 07 F-450 with a .488 and a 6.0L PSD rated to tow 23,000 lbs. I tow my 15,300 lb mulcher all over the country on my 10 ton goose. Towing wise I am good to go. Now all I need is about $43k!
