We have a set of 4120's, sounds like Deere is coming with 4xxxM tractors in the fall, these are paid for but need to run a Kuhn EL82-180 tiller to do about 30 ac. in late summer and don't want to trade yet.

Question is as I look through JDParts can we change aneroid and maybe injectors and make my 4120 a 4720? Looks as though not much else is different and I don't want to trade yet.

Wondering if anybody has experience or has looked into this?

Thanks,

Ryan

There's been quite a bit of discussion in the past on this very question! There's not a great deal of difference between the 4000 x 20 series tractors.

However, if you visit the Nebraska Tractor Test site it appears that the turbos are different as well as the injector pump/injectors. Of course, the computer control may well be different as well.

Long answer short - turbo, injector pump/injectors and ECM - would likely need to be swapped out.

You could go to JDParts and get an idea of the costs for the various components.
