Folks:
This baffles me, so at the suggestion of Kennyd, I post this before the cognoscenti. Please help.
Low hour Deere 4100, well maintained with factory 54" deck and model 410 FEL.
Joystick moves out, and bucket falls with some curious down-curl at the end of travel.
Joystick moves in, and bucket lifts with some odd in-curl at the end of travel.
There is no available movement of the joystick left or right, no detent, no gate. I'll bend it if I push harder.
Linkage to SCV is lubed and spools move (always one spool goes in and the other goes out, for any forward/backward movement)
Dust cover reveals grease and no signs of moisture, springs seem ok.
With hoses switched, there is the opposite result: curl with some lift at the end of travel.
I had a 4100 for five years, and I loved it when it was stolen. I know how it should work, and this isn't it.
Joystick is not locked with factory pin-lock under the seat. With no linkages, joystick is free to move in all directions.
Turnbuckle length is factory correct at 3.484" or as close as I can measure.
In all SCVs I've ever been around, one valve moves for one function, and the other valve moves for a different function: this time, one always moves in and the other out, varying lengths, for any stick motion.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, gents.
