deere 2520 hydraulic valve noisy

I just added a two spool hydraulic valve to my 2520. i tapped into the ports behind the scv block like i have seen on this website. i put the plug in the block. all is working, but the valve sometimes has a vibration/shuddering/squealing noise to it. if you run the levers back and forth you can get it to quit. but if you use the loader or 3 point it may come back after using one of them. anyone have any suggestions?

i put the supply line from the back port of the block on tractor to the "P" port on the valve and the "T" port goes back to the front port on the block on tractor. the valve had no instructions so i'm assuming this is hooked up right?? could it be backwards?

Two things come to mind here...

1. You should be using the IN and the OUT ports on the valve since you are not using the PB option on the valve.

I misread, I thought you wrote PB, not just P. Disregard #1

2. You may need to set the relief valve pressure on the new valve closer to the max pressure of your system.

i see i have a small leak in the "T" port fitting. it is #8 o ring fitting. could that be causing the noise? i have it super tight but must be a bad o ring or something. after i tightened it the noise doesn't "appear" as often....i'll get a new o ring tomorrow or maybe a whole new fitting. i will have to get pics of the install on here too....

also kennyd.....i don't have a pressure gauge, could i just tweak with the adjuster to see if the noise will stop??? don't have much experience with setting a pressure relief.

If the fitting is "super tight", then the O-ring is probably damaged.

The ONLY way to safely (for you and your machine) to set a relief valve is with a gauge. You can make a gauge setup for about $30 or so...

could the relief valve cause the squeal when the handles are at neutral? the squealing will happen right when you start the tractor, then play with the handles and you can get it to go away....but will come back after using the loader or playing with the handles again....

Yes.

Pressure is high then because the fluid is cold.

That raises the pressure...

i set the relief up to 2200 it was only around 1200. the squealing went away. my problem now is that the three point will lift fine empty, but i put a box scraper on and it won't lift it. took scraper back off and lifts perfectly. played with lever and speed control knob but can't get it to lift the scraper.

Are you positive you have the IN's and OUT's hooked up correctly?

i am assuming the "P" port was in, and the "T" is out.....and the back port on tractor block was the pressure one going to the "P". it seems like it would be right since the loader works fine....but something weird is going on.....

Yup,
"P"= Pressure, or IN
"T"=Tank or OUT

And the rear port (at least on my 4110, very close to the 2520) is the OUT port.

I know of at least 5 other you have hooked valves up this way without any problems, I am
