Well, I'm trying to decide on a BX2200 or the Deere 2210.

I expect to get a deck and FEL

What are your experiences? Which would you buy?

Any idea on price in the Toronto area?

Thanks in advance

I went with a 2210 because it was more comfortable to drive with the 2 pedal hydro. I think you need to drive both, I have the bar tires and have never wished I had turfs. I have been very impressed with how well it handles.

I will agree with Bill, but, you really did not except any arguments on this forum?
I think both are good, go with the good dealer and the one that is most comfortable.

I drove both and bought neither, for different reasons. Main reason I nixed the JD was the dealer. Didn't seem to have time for my little purchase. Attitude is everything. From theirs, I vowed I'd never do business there even though the 2210 was my first choice. I also preferred the treddle peddle not because it was more comfortable, but almost because it wasn't. The fact that you have to move your foot differently to go forward and backward made me think it might be safer in on of those uh-oh situations.

The dealer I bought from sold both MF & Kubota. I went with the GC 2300 really 'cuz I liked the fit better, and I preferred (for no real reason) the two cylinders on the FEL. The specs come out slightly better than 2210 or 2230, but those are on paper; don't know that you or I would ever really notice them.

I gotta agree with Hambone. You're not going to go wrong with either tractor (assuming it's well matched to your uses): go with the dealer that feels "right" /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

tacbat - you answered the next question I had in mind: what type of tires? My lawn isn't exactly a putting green, but I can't see why bar tire would chew it up, given how light these maches are.

On the other hand, turfs might be a nightmare for garden work or in rough terrain. Plus, the tread seems mighty thin on turfs and could result in flats.

Anybody else have comments?

I have bar tires, and can notice some marks when wet turning sharp. Like turning around at the end of a row.
Normally nothing.

boustany,

I did some tilling in the garden last summer with my turfs and didn't have any traction problems. I can't recall if I used the MFWD but my 4110 was just moving allong fine! I had a 60" Bhuler tiller which must be at least 500 pounds on the 3 point hitch.
