1947 Ford 8N 6v positive ground system front mount distributor sn 10101 all OEM & Deere 1050 with front loader and back hoe.
My 1050 is experiencing hydraulic problems and I need some advice. Currently at a Deere repair center but they are having trouble sourcing original parts. If they cannot source oriiginal parts they will not use aftermarket parts. If it gets to that point I am bringing it home and then looking for someone local to work on it.
They mentioned the SCV valve needs replaced. Why would they not just rebiuld it? I see people online offering to rebiuld these valves.
I am venting a bit but in the end looking to see if anyone on this forum is familiar with this tractor and the hydraulics as I may need to ask some questions if the service center hits a dead end.
Thanks for listening an let me know if you have any advice to offer.

1050 scv control valve is listed in JD parts AM107083 @ $1,414.16. If spool & housing clearances gets too large then these components must be replaced as a unit. I see no reason a cheaper aftermarket open center spool valve couldn't be utilized on a 1050.

Show a picture where and how it mounts.

What are the "problems" it is experiencing?

SCV's typically are not used anywhere near as much as other hydraulic valves...like loader, 3PH, or backhoe valves. So why are they suspecting it is faulty?

When I first noticed problems it would take about a half hour to "warm up" and things were not working properly except for power steering and that was jerky. Had just puchased tractor used in Feb 2020 and used it all summer no problems, no warm up needed, hop on an go, and then something happened! So I sent it to the service center. They are now stating that the front loader can lift the tractor up and back hoe works, no more jerky power steering, but feel as though only 80% corrected and the SCV is their suspected issue, but not sure why as I am a relative hydraulic newby. I can ask questions if I know what to ask about. So far I am only learning about an SCV and it's function, so not sure why that is their current focus to get to 100% right.

That sounds like a pump or wrong hyd oil issue (too heavy)
A proper test with a flow/load meter would rule it out.
Relief valve partially stuck open?

Edit, sorry, maybe not be the hyd oil if it happened quick, I missed the “something happened “

They did flush the hyd fluid twice and got a lot of moisture out, two new filters, one with each flush, that helped. Not sure what other things they have done so far. I have reuested a list of what they have done and what they are planning to do. Initially there was talk of the pump being bad, but not sure if that was repaired or replaced, forgot to ask about it. Will get more info and post it. Thanks for the feedback.
