Deer keep going into our hog traps and eating the corn. We've decided to put a wire across the top horizontally about one foot from the top. Hope that helps. Some people told us to soak the corn in Diesel and the deer want eat it. Wrong, we've soaked the corn in diesel for days and then put it out. We have pictures of hogs, deer, squirrels, coons and crows eating it. We've had several trip the gate and spend the night in the trap.

put some fishing line across the opening. They cant see it and will bump into it keeping them out. I did it around foodplots and around my hazelnuts this year and it kept the deer off them.

That is a good one.

They also have a hot spray that you can spray trees with that you can use. Its like a jalapeno suace.

Also, deer do not like coyote pee or blood, so there are products out there that you could mix dried blood with the corn and the hogs would live it, but the deer would not.

Maybe they'll get so used to food being near the trap, you can put just the trap out for deer season.

Deer avoid human pee as well. Don't know about hogs. My grandsons come to visit and explore the trees around the yard... No deer in the area. Plenty just a few hundred yards away.
