The sure trac is one of the best looking trailers I致e come across so deciding between these 2 models.

Both are 15k(lowering to 14.5k)

The big thing is where the axles are. The 25+5 has the axles way back, making tongue weight a potential issue. The 22 tilt has the axles close to middle making empty tongue weight light and potential issue getting load evened out. The machine I mainly pull is an M62, about 9000lb. I'm worried the tilt will be squiggly going down the road because of short wheel base or the dove tail will have too much tongue weight. Any opinions?

Also with the larger I beam tongues, who makes a good wdh that fits the 8-10 beams. I use a blue ox now.

I'll be lowering the gvwr to 14.5k to keep me at 26k even and the tilt will give me more payload capacity. The 25+5 is built heavier with cross bracing.

As an FYI my truck is a 2019 6.7 f350 srw with snow plow package and airbags/helwig sway bar.

I’d keep looking. With a single rear wheel truck, you can’t risk going too heavy on the tongue. And if you can’t get the tongue weight right then what’s the point. Are you set on a deckover?

Yea, a deck over is coming to tarm. I have a tongue scale so I will get it right, but the close axles have me second guessing the squirrelyness potential.
Hoping someone here has experience with the deck over tilts. Funny thing is I just got rid of my drw. I値l probably get one this fall or this winter. It had a 2100 tongue weight and 21k bumper pull, but a 14k gvwr so that limited me on my trailer capacity. This time I値l be smart and get the 11500 gvwr rating package.

I really like my 22' Dismond C power tilt deckover. Steeper to load a tractor on than my old tiny gravity tilt but so much easier to load stuff over the side.

I have 5k of tractor & 2k of impliment on generally. Add that to 4k of trailer & it leaves plenty of safety margin even if I add another impliment. I paid double for the trailer that I paid for the old beater high mileage F250. I'd feel better a out pulling more than my current load on a truck with a tighter steering box, but it tows well as is.

The trailer tows beautifully behind my Tacoma. A 4k empty trailer behind a truck with a tow rating of 6.5k means i only use it for very light loads. I'll use the Taco over the beater F250 if things fit for any longer hauls though. Both trucks are going to be liquidated & replaced by a newer 3/4 ton in the next few years. 20170909_182455-1.jpg20170909_182506.jpg20180618_122125.jpg

Why not get a GN? I’ve pulled a 12k skid steer on my 10ton GN behind a SRW Ford. The 5.4 didn’t like the idea but the truck handled it fine. Personally I wouldn’t want 15k behind me on a bumper pull trailer with a SRW truck. Maybe it would handle it but a GN gives you a lot more freedom to hook it up and get on with things. I could’ve pulled the skid steer all the way to the front if I wanted to and it would have probably overloaded the truck but at least it would have still steered. My buddy moved a lot of stuff he probably shouldn’t have behind his F-250 and later his dually and maintaining steering with an over weight hitch was a real problem. The dually didn’t squat as much obviously but lifting the front end was equally as much a problem. He was using a 10 ton pintle hook trailer that probably has 1200 pound on the hitch empty.

Why do you want a tag trailer? I had a similar trailer, pintle hitch, 18k gvwr I think, deckover. I only every pulled it with a dually and a dump truck. It put a lot of tongue weight on the dually and I would not have wanted to pull it behind a srw. A gooseneck would be a lot better for a lot of reasons.

Tool boxes and ladder rack keep me from GN.. Srw are rated at 18k bumper pull. I pull 12.5 now and with a deck over I'll be at about 13.5k. With air bags I have almost zero squat with a 1500 tongue weight.

That is exactly the style trailer I'm talking about. What length? and when loaded with tractor do you feel you need to slow down on back roads because of turns and bouncing?

One other plus with a tilt is the ability to easily spray of the salt from winter.

There is no trailer quite like a gooseneck.
They are the best!
