The 3840 finally crossed the 50hr tick and Don Long shows up with the biggest Mack truck mounted crane I've ever seen. Three hours later he'd gone over the green machine from the loader to the 3pt, changed all the fluids and filters and replaced a zerk I had busted seconds before his arrival.
He left filter numbers, a tube of grease and a couple of qts of oil for good measure. He was a wealth of info and we chatted about "issues" he might have encountered with other higher mileage 3040/3840's (tach cable was it, really)
I expected some charges as he's 75 mi away, but, his response was, "no, when I said free I meant free".
He mentioned some aggressive pricing on existing some Montana inventories, just in case any one out there is interested. 301-582-6149 or through the Montana website if anyone feels the need to reach out to him.
