For the GC series tractors, its a 54" deck with just a few hours on it and he's selling it for $1400-thoughts on the price?

Do you have the MM PTO? That should price out at $2,500 minimum.

I got a used 60" three years ago, and thought that $1500 was very fair- it had only about 6 hours on it.

Your price seems very good- go for it! I think they must be close to $3K now for a new one.

Just be sure the short driveshaft coupler hasn't been lost in the shuffle; it will slide right off the mower (and has the quick-connect on one end to connect to the mid-PTO stub).

Another reason to be sure to get the shaft is that they changed it once, so the spline that they used is different. I also bought my 60" used (never cut grass) and paid $1300

Yes, its a MF mmm, it's currently mounted to a GC2610 a customer returned for a smaller tractor. The tractor only has 7 hours on it so the MMM has even less, it also used to have the front mount snowblower but someone got that before I could.

Trying to scrape up some cash-kinda tough right now.

I hear you on cash. See if you can put some down to hold it, and pay the rest off??

Too bad about the blower, Daigle, they're very nice!

When I got my MMM, the owner was willing to take $500 a pop over several months, so I'd try that with the dealer. I'm assuming the 54" is as good as the 60"... but I really like the way mine does the job; an excellent mower. It cut my lawn time from 4-5 hours with a typical motorized push mower to about 1 hour. It also uses less fuel!

Sorry about the pic of the coupler shaft; I was on my way to work and had to rush. Here's some better photos:

Irv , love the little mod you did to allow the deck to stand on its side.where did you get the little wheels?

I made my own wheel set out of sone 1" steel rod. I turned down the ends on my Lathe to fit a set of mower wheels. If you don't have a lathe than one could drill and tap the ends and use mower axle bolts. It sure make storage and moving around easier.:D

Chooglin, I ordered mine from moweraxles.com or something like that (mowerdeckaxles?).... they weren't cheap, but they were well made and fit perfectly.

As Bolens pointed out, you could make your own pretty easily, but then, I don't have a metal lathe (another thing I wish I had!).

Lawn mower wheels (solid rubber) might actually work better-- my deck-axle wheel are hard plastic, and they hold up well, but on a smooth concrete surface --the inside of my garage-- the tiniest pice of rock will stop 'em cold; I have to make sure the floor's clean before I try to move the deck around much.

Other than that, they're great-- I'm able to store the deck for the winter right up against a wall. The wheels/axles also make servicing the underside...like removing the blades for sharpening... a breeze.
