Hello Everyone.....
Wondering if I can get some advise?
I purchased a restored 1967 JD 110... It wasn't holding a Battery Charge so, I took the Initiative to change the Negative Battery Cable. The one that was on there was some flimsy "tin foil" type of Cable...
I thought swapping the Negative Cable may be an easy fix.... Not Quite!!!!!
I tried to start her, saw one big spark AND NOW SHES COMPLETELY DEAD!!!!!!
The first thing I thought would have been a "fuse" but cant seem to find one....
Not sure where to go from here? Any Ideas?
Thanks!! $_57.JPG

Is changing the negative battery cable the ONLY thing you did?

yes sir, In fact... I just took a minute to put the flimsy one back on.....
Its cranking over now..
Now, I'm back to my original issue.... Whats causing the battery to die?
Is it possible "neither" Negative" Cable is correct?

Won;t hold charge, replace battery.
Try jumping battery....will it start and run now?

Where was spark?

The spark came from the "Positive" side....
The Battery is Brand New... AND I think Im gonna have to wait and see if she holds a charge at this point...
I'm also wondering "if" the Generator is keeping the Battery charged when I do get her running...
Any Idea how to test the Generator?
Thanks!!

If the spark came from the positive side then you have a bad connection wherever the spark was. Clean/fix that area. Why did you replace the negative cable? What do you mean not holding a charge? If you only run the generator every month or two for a few minutes then the battery will not charge enough. I keep a float charger on my generator battery all the time. I think this is very important.
