Could not believe it happened but a rock flew out from under my brush hog and put a big hole in the back of my HST hydraulic filter. Tractor started pulling strange like it was catching on something so I cut er off and low and behold hydraulic fluid was gushing out of the back of my filter. Anyhow, dealership is 1.5 hours away and I need to find a replacement filter. I understand the WIX WL10113 is an equivalent substitute for the Daedong T5710-38031 filter that's on there. Can anyone speak to whether they have used this filter or not? Also, any idea as to how much fluid I should plan to replace? Tractor is an NX5010 with 166 hours on it. Still under warranty so want to make sure the filter will not cause issues. Need to finish a job today otherwise would just order another don't cha know.

Cheers
Bob

Remove and take the damaged filter to your auto parts and they should match it up.
In fact they probably have cross reference charts in their catalogues.

Your owner's manual should have the fluid info and also often that info is on a label somewhere under your hood.

Here to finish my saga. I called one of our local O'Reilly stores and they were able to order the filter (WIX WL10113) and get it in store by 2pm same day. 1 WIX HST filter and ~11 gallons of Premium TSC Hydraulic Fluid and I'm back in business. So ~$150 later I'm back up and running. Guess I'll try to start looking for ways to shield rocks from coming thru the front portion of the brush cutter as this could have been really expensive had it been a tire or something else.

Cheers

Is a chain kit available for your model brush hog? I bought one with chains for that exact reason...too many rocks around here, broke a window on the house with the old mower...from over 100ft away.

My Woods BBX72 brush mower came with a thick rubber 'mudflap' bolted to the front open area of the mower. I replaced it recently with the same item. They also sell a chain 'shield' for more money. I opted for the OEM one that came with the mower when new.
Dealer says they don't come through with any protection now- guess it's sold as an option. Seems crazy to me- a rock could just as easy launch at one's head!!:confused2::eek:
