Hey y'all, I'm Jim from NC. Bunch of snow here now for a change, we ain't used to this!
Well, here's my question;
I have a Mitsubishi D 1500 ll, 19 hp 2 cyl. diesel.
Was pushing snow with it the other day & it started getting weaker & weaker & weaker until it finally stopped running. I had to use the starter with it in gear to get it off the driveway.

I can't get it started now, it's been bout a week. It's getting fuel, I blew out the air filter with compressed air, I heat up the glow plugs for at least a minute. It has been hard to start lately but now won't start at all & it acts like it ain't getting any fire (if it were a gas motor).

HELP??

maybe its time to use a block heater to heat the engine.then try to start it.

Will the glow plugs make the tractor slowly stop running like I described? I found some plugs on EBAY for bout $35 bucks.

i dont think you have a glow plug issue.something on the engine is frozen.could be vapour lock etc.if you could warm the engine in a garage or cover it with a tarp and warm it with a block heater it may start.the whole engine has to be warm.also charge the battery.if that dont work you may have other issues.

Did you purge the lines of air? The injector pump cannot pump air out of the lines!
You need to progressivly bleed air right up to the injector pump.
You do that by cracking the fittings 'til fuel flows and move onto the next etc, right up to the pump.

Or again many have bleeder valves for that purpose (see manual).

I have sometimes even cracked the injector fittings to be sure fuel gets to that level.
When an injector line spits fuel, the tractor will start within one RPM if ambient temp is right. (warm day)

check your hydralics valve to make sure that it is not stuck in any wierd position. this could cause the engine to labor and stall too.
