Kioti CX2510 HST Cab
Hi new to this forum
just bought a CX 2510 HST cab and am having a problem. When i start the tractor I have no glow plug indication although I have checked and the timer circuit and glow plugs are working. Had the dealer check it and he found the wiring to light up the dash is not there the lights on the dash wrk if you supply voltage to them it is just there is no wiring from the harness. the dealer contacted Kioti and they said it is normal, I find this hard to believe as the owners manual says it should be there and the shop manual which I bought with the tractor shows the wiring. Am now at a loss as what is my next step.
Any help would be appreciate. Thanks

It certainly does not sound normal for the manufacturer to spend the money to add a light connected to nothing. If you can buy or borrow a wiring diagram you should be able to solve your mystery fairly quickly. As a work around you could run a wire from a glow plug to the light so you'd know when they're receiving power.

I have the manual and the wiring from the harness is not present on the small connector from the loom to the dash is supposed to have wiring for the preheat and the glow plug and neither ore there. Supplying power to the correct pins on the dash and the lights come on.

Before I start mine, I turn the ignition key to the left and hold it there for 5 to 15 seconds, depending on ambient temperature. During which the glow plug indicator shows up.

Is that what you're talking about??

if over 65 degrees, I just start it without the pre-heat prep.

If the engine is already warm, I just start it.

the easiest thing is to go check the dealer lot of other 2510 and see if theirs lights up. I mean this should be a 3 second answer for the dealer.

The dealer does not have any Cab models to check with non cab models work both turning the switch to the left light up the left hand light turning to the right on position lights it up for about 8 second s It’s about 30 f outside Mine shows no lights but the plugs are working. Pulling the dash panel and suppling voltage to the correct pins gives me the light indication but there is no wiring to those pins. Dealer says it’s normal, I think not

Was the cab installed by the Dealer or the factory?

My light doesn't come on when I turn the key to the right. At all.

I don't worry about it. I have a 6.7l Cummins that I'm thinking about removing the grid heater altogether. They're overrated, IMHO.

I noticed mine don't like it when I forget to use the Heater, though. Don't really care. The smoke, and belching and farting from the cantankerous old girl is kinda entertaining. She's not even a year old so I shoulldn't call her 'old'. But her technology is. I like that.

Good luck and don't be a stranger

On my Cummins?

There's a thing they call the 'Killer Bolt" issue on the grid heater on Cummins engines.

A fastening bolt in the intake kinda burns itself loose, gets into the combustion chamber and destroys the engine. It's very rare but it happens.

Not really related other than to note that many people, even ones that live in Alaska or Canada's Northern Territories remove their grid heaters and don't have much of a problem.

Cummins uses a grid heater, others use glow plugs. Big difference. I was just saying that, if your glow plugs take a dump, it's not the end of the world. It's nice to have them but I don't think they're mandatory.

OTOH, I could be wrong ;)
