CUT Hour meter broken - what to do?

Can you tell me where you found a new digital hour meter? I have the same problem with my 4300. The meter went out about 1.5 years ago and mysteriously came on for about an hour recently.

I've searched the numbers that are printer on the back of the one in your picture but no luck with a match.

The only other issue that I have is with the temp gauge. It quit working. I found that a rodent had chewed the wire, spliced it, it worked fine for a little while then pegged red.

From then on, after about 30 seconds of running, the needle pegs.

That's the one! I thought that I'd have it last night; looks like it will be tomorrow!

It is the entire hour meter. I actually am VERY optimistic that swapping just the LCD will make mine fully functional.

I just replaced my unit entirely and then broke down the instrument cluster to see what and how it worked. Since I'd need more electronics expertise than I'm up for, I just replaced the unit. I also stripped out the bulbs and other pieces in case I need them.

I did not that the seal around the outside wasn't as solid on the old one - vs. the new one. Perhaps JD figured out that a thicker seal would be advantageous. My started fogging after they "replaced" it with the recall back after I got the unit. I think the lack of a solid seal contributed to the unit dying.
