I have to admit I enjoy this resource of seeing like minded folks with their ideas (pictures especially) and problem solving tips. I plan to fabricate my own Grill Guard with woven s/steel or hardened steel mesh (have yet to determine the size and hole opening size) to prevent radiator and headlight damage, but I also want to incorporate a small toolbox at the bottom end, where I can keep a chain, fold-up shovel, rain coat, bug spray, my lunch box and water. I want it water and dust proof. Curios to see if anyone else have ever done such a project (pictures please). I like the driver area clean and free from any items at all times.

This is what the tractor look like with dealer added 4 Kubota Weights and Bracket.

This is another members Grill Guard that I really like but want to ad onto in my case. I want side protection, about the first 12" from the front going back, either side.

Yet another members Grill Guard, similar to what I want to do with the added protection for the lights and radiator. I especially like the chain hooks and I might ad two more points to secure shackles, plus my toolbox. Don't know if I want it on the front or one on either side of the engine. Later I want to ad FEL. So many things to keep in mind, a well design, well thought out, and then I don't have to re-engineer it later when I ad the FEL.

You might want to ask the dealer if the grill guard with weights/bracket stick out too far to be compatible with a FEL.

Some models don't handle both very well. The other issue is that a FEL adds enough weight to the front that the additional weights are rarely necessary. The front axles can take a beating with too much weight up front.

The position of the tool box needs to be considered with the opening of the hood. Be sure there is not a conflict...or you could make the tool box removable. It will be heavy with the chains and etc. in it.

Of course, if you build your own there may be adjustments that can be made to allow the weights and a FEL to work together if that is what you need.

A fantastic fabricator and TBN member, 4shorts, is remarkable at doing modifications. You may want to contact him by PM to see what he thinks. Good guy.

In fact 4Shorts has already fabricated a toolbox that sits in the front within his grill guard. Search for posts from him and you will find the one with the front toolbox and additional lights.

Lauren

Well thanks for those kind words. That was very nice of you. It made my day! :dance1:

Well Lauren there's nothing wrong with your memory

I actually designed and built two types of front boxes. One with a storage unit and the other with a shackle holder. Both got quad LED flashing lights in them. :D

Here's a video on one of the boxes. Hope this helps. :)

Well, ZAR2USA, there are the pictures you wanted.

Be sure to watch the video for how to do the "fun little project". At least you will get an idea or two for your own toolbox. Most of us have neither the skills nor the resources to make one quite as beautiful and detailed as that found on 4short's tractor.

That tool box is too cool. I would love the fabrication skills needed to build such.
