UPS showed up at 5:30pm with my Curtis cab heater. At 8:30pm I drove my 2210 outside and warmed her up to see if I had leaks or a priming problem. Very shortly the heater hoses warmed and warm air poured from the vents. No leaks.

I had previously been using a 800w electric interior car warmer mounted overhead run by a 1K Honda genset mounted on the rear spreader. The Curtis heater puts out 3 times the heat and does it with directional vents bottom to top.

A fairly straightforward installation and all hoses, clamps..etc..are supplied. I'm impressed.

Wildman I wondered how long you would put up with that system when you said you put it together. You will be loving the new outfit. P.S. Don't forget your jacket and gloves!

Hi...

Is it the 15,000 BTU hot water heater ?

Does it have a fan ? On/Off switch ?

Thanks...

That sounds like a toasty warm way to plow in the winter of Alaska!

Wildman1 - Any chance we can see a few pictures of the installation, especially how it's connected to the engine? Also can you give us the dimensions of the new style heater. Thanks,

Dave..it's the 15K btu unit. It has a separate 2 speed switch that you mount wherever. I mounted mine on the frame lip of the cab at the bottom of the windshield. I'll take some pics and post them.

MountainMan..the dimensions are: 71/2"w/7"h/8"deep plus 3" off the back for the fan motor.

Here's the 1st pic showing the heater with the switch mounted on the lower cab front window lip, just above and to the right of the heater.
