Cub GT 2518-48

The closest thing I have to a tractor is a 21" Honda walk behind! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif However, I recently bought 1 1/2 acres and I'm looking to buy a GT this spring. I've been looking at the 2000 and 2500 series from Cub. I've looked at tons of tractors from every brand available and it just seems that Cub has the best bang for the buck.

dmanspadge you hit the nail on the head bang for the buck is right, I've had 2 other cubs a 2135 and 2166 both had over 300 hours before i sold them and not even a single hint of a problem.The 2000 series from cub will have the cast iron tranny the same as the 2500-3000 series in 2005 so they have added even more bang for the buck. I also heard the paint will be a little different with black running gear, as to what black running gear means, frame? deck? I'm not sure, congrats on your land purchase now you can buy you a new toy to maintain it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif be sure to post pics when you get your toy of choice /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'll post a pic of my old cub shortly.

This a bit off the subject guys, but I am thinking of having Line-X spray the bottom of my 48" deck to protect it. I had my truck bed done and have found out they use this stuff on industrial equipment. TOUGH AS NAILS! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If I switch to these tires will I have to reset the height adjustment on my deck?

When you get the time go on Carlisle'e website and compare dimensions of the turf pro (Cubs stock tire 2py) and the turf master 4 ply....there is a significant difference in size between the two, all for the better using the turf master series...and they will be stamped the same size amazingly /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Stop it! You people are making me jealous! I stopped by my local Cub dealer yesterday to start getting some ideas for what I will be buying this spring. He didn't have but two new ones in stock and a couple of used ones. But it was nice to check them out, however he didn't have anything I was interested in. He said they'll be getting in some of the 2005's soon... so I guess I'll just have to look at y'alls pictures until then!

BTW, Rainbow6... what year model is your 2518?

Having downsized, I just sold my Kubota BX2230 and purchased a Cub Cadet GT 2518-48.

Why did you step down from a Kubota BX2230 to a Cub Cadet GT 2518-48?
I went the other way and switched from a Cub Cadet GT2554 to a Kubota BX1500.
So the CC is now on the market.

I went from cutting 4 acres to .75 acres after I moved. I sold the Kubota for around $10,000 and purchased the Cub. Gives me six grand in the bank plus I still have a nice mower.

1*Just curious why did you move from 4 acres to .75 acres?
3*After 4 years with my BX23 and getting my 2.33 acres pretty well tamed and the work on it nearly caught up I'm almost out of things to do on it with the BXs.
I don't want to sell the BXs and down grade as I may need them for task that may come up in the future.
I'm looking to find other uses for them in the meanwhile including hiring them out for some task.
After I've done say $6000 to $10000 worth of work I to would have several grand in the bank plus I get to keep the BXs.
