Hello,

Does anyone here have any experience with the Pro Z line of zero turns?
What are your thoughts about them?

I have not been able to find much discussion on them.

Thanks in advance.

I recently purchased a 2021 Pro Z 560 S KW. It is a fantastic mower! It’s built like a tank, great quality, delivers an amazing cut and is incredibly good on my steep hills and hillsides. I couldn’t ask for a better mower! I highly recommend it!

Cub cadet is probably the best commercial mower brand and garden tractor brand on the market

I was skeptical about Cub Cadet during my research. I looked at lots and lots of alternatives (Kubota, Bad Boy, Altoz, JD, etc). The steering wheel option promising better control, traction and stability is what persuaded me to purchase this mower. However, after experiencing the performance and exceptional quality, it has sold me on the Cub Cadet and especially the Pro Z product line.

They truly manufacture some amazing machines!

I bought a Pro Z 972 SD back in the fall to mow my pond dam and areas around it. So far I have about 30 hours on it and it's an amazing piece of equipment. It will hold side hills better than my 10K pound tractor. Even with the steering wheel, it's as maneuverable as a traditional zero turn mower.

Even in thick grass, 12" tall, you can go as fast as you want because it has plenty of power. The power comes at the cost of fuel consumption though. It's a thirsty beast.

I demo’d a couple standard lap-bar ZT’s before trying out a steering wheel equipped Cub Cadet on my property and I totally agree. The steering wheel turns just as sharp and is just as maneuverable as the lap-bar setup.

I still can’t believe I can make turns while mowing around trees on some of the steepest sections on my property. Truly amazing.

They are indeed thirsty. But, that’s a Kawasaki issue rather than a Cub Cadet issue. And, it was because the fuel consumption that lead me to the 852cc vs the 999cc. I’m still working on my fuel consumption calculations but, I don’t think I’m saving much over the 999cc. They just like fuel.

Some of the reviews on the CC website were not good.

Yep. I read all of those reviews too, good and bad. While all were helpful, I’m glad I didn’t allow the poor reviews to influence my decision. The demo sealed the deal.

Did you end up getting one?
I've got a 972 with duel wheels.
It shudders when taking off up hills. A bit rough.
Dealer tells me this is normal. I'd like to know if others do it as well. Because everyone says they are great. But don't think they should be shuddering.
