I'm considering the LT1024 and the LT2180 as a replacement of my Craftsman. I have 1.5 acres to get approximately 40 times per year.
Will the LT2180 perform more reliably and is the durability better than the LT1024. I know the LT1024 has one more belt, but the belt used on the deck, which is the highest loaded belt, seems to take a torturous route from the engine to the deck.
How is the reliabilty and durability of the Hydro-Gear transmission used in the LT1024 compared to the Cub transmision in the LT2180? Is the cast iron tranny used in the 2500 series significantly stronger than the transmission inthe LT2180.
Thanks for any input.
