One year old Tractor/Mower runs fine for about a half hour, then engine starts sputtering and unit has to be shut down. Have done all the manual says..using 10W-30 engine oil (oil and filter changed twice with only 40 hrs total operation time, and also checked spark plug). Acts almost like vapor lock once experienced on old cars?? Continues to start fine when cold. Does anyone have a suggestion of what to look for?

As soon as it starts sputtering, try loosening the fuel cap. Perhaps the vent is stuck and it's building up a vacuum in the tqnk.

Fuel line filter was the problem. Did not think this would have been the problem since the machine is very new. Appreciate the suggestion/solution as a $6 replacement filter saved me a lot of time and money.

Good to hear you got it resolved! Machines with the vac/pulse driven fuel pump can be sensitive to fuel line type and cleanliness. Especially kohlers for some reason. A new OEM filter is usually the answer.
