I have 2006 Cub Cadet M48-KW Tank that has a couple of problems I need help with. Bought this used and only had it a little while.

First, I was having an issue with it being hard to start. I had to play around with the choke while holding the key and it would start in about 20 to 30 seconds. I changed all the fuel lines as they were old and crumbling. Replaced the fuel filter and checked/cleaned spark plugs and Put a new fuel pump on it. It now starts easier but while actually mowing if you hit a bump it acts like it's going to turn off but never actually does. Also when I engage the PTO it sounds like it's going to cut off yet never does.

Second problem is the PTO. It engages fine when I first start cutting but after using it for 20 to 30 minutes, if I turn off the PTO it does not want to start back. First time this happened I started driving the mower and the PTO kicked in. Same thing happened again so I tried that and it did not work. I was basically finished mowing so I just parked it. I have noticed this mower will cut in reverse, not sure if that is because it is a commercial mower or if something is wrong there. I know my Troy Bilt residential RZT will not cut in reverse.

Any and all help appreciated

I don't have an answer but I do have some info... I have a 2006 MK48-KW which I bought used (about 400 hours). I have both of these problems. Mine won't start without full choke and after running for a while the PTO will sometimes not reengage after stopping. Since it will always start and I can always eventually get the PTO engaged I have just lived these quirks. I mow just under 2 acres every week with no problems.

I have wondered if one day the PTO will fail to engage altogether. One detail: I run two high lift blades in a cross on each of the three spindles - which definitely adds load to the PTO. I find I get the best cut that way and when I use a bragger it really works well.

My M48 Tank that I bought used did not come with a ROPS. Does anyone know where I can find one? I have googled it and can't find anywhere to actually order one.
