Cub Cadet and Yanmar Dissolving Joint Venture

This just in my mail today from Farm Journal's Implement and Tractor publication. "Cub Cadet and Yanmar are dissolving their joint venture. Future dealer support for the compact tractor line will come through Yanmar America Corporation, and the compact tractor line will be branded Yanmar instead of Cub Cadet Yanmar. Ken Sweet

Been talking about this on Yanmar threads for six months or more. It has been dissolved on 01SEP11 and dealers have until the end of year to decide if they wish to "opt in" on being a Yanmar dealer. I have only found one dealer getting in on Yanmar, they are in Giddings Texas. They carry Kioti and now Yanmar too.

I deal with several dealers thruout the midwest and northeast, and all have signed on with Yanmar. I recently stopped in at a dealer that is not picking up Yanmar, perhaps because they also carry Kubota and Case IH.
I think there might be some deals to be had by these dealers not signing on....the machines will be bought at a discount by other dealers.

Both the Cub Cadet and Yanmar websites are updated now it looks like.

The dealer I bought my SC2400 from shows up on the Yanmar dealer locator site. So it looks like he signed an agreement to sell Yanmars. He always had good things to say about Yanmar so I figured he would.

yanmar officially split from cub cadet 48 hours after i purchased my sc2400
the next day after the announcement my local dealer called me and notified me that he is now a yanmar dealer and yanmar was honoring my purchase and warranty. what was odd was that when i purchased it he had a sale on his 2 sc2400's 2 ex 3200's that he was given and told by his cub cadet dealer to "get them sold" so i got my 2011 sc2400 for $14,000 plus mid mount mower, wheal weights, front end loader & bucket, and Brush guard. i wasnt planning on purchasing untill spring but i couldnt really beat the price here in western wisconsin.

That seems like a pretty good deal as I paid 12100 for the tractor and loader back in August of 2009. I was looking at purchasing the mid mount mower last yr and I was told it was $2500. My dealer tends to be a msrp guy, so it's possible I could have gotten it cheaper some other place. I have a flail mower and a craftsman 3500 rider so I passed. If I were to get another mower, I'd get a 72" front mount zero turn.

It appears my dealer finally signed up with Yanmar:thumbsup:
They are listed as a dealer on Yanmar's web page.

Although many dealers with multi lines were reluctent to add another line to be able to work directly with Yanmar is a plus! It takes another middle man out of the loop in parts as well as buying.


I can't think of any dealers that didn't take the option of signing on!

Be interesting to see if Yanmar goes back to making a quality product with their CUTS and SCUTS. When I was in the market a year ago I was impressed in the dfference in the frame between a Bota and Cub. Chose the Bota. Several months later my mechanic had a Cub in his shop (same model I was considering). It had a twisted frame from dragging logs. He had to put $3K in parts in it and waited 4 weeks for some items to come from Japan. I saw that cheesy frame up close, sure glad I settled on the Bota, it is solid steel not pressed sheet metal.
