I recently acquired a CC Series 2000 AGS2140 with 190-303 snow thrower. Appears well maintained. Had 54 hours on the, I assumed, rebuilt engine. Was cautioned to go slow and thought I was but apparently, not slow enough. I smelled something in the first or second hour. I went slower. I got to hour 4 and smelled the odor again and then the belt broke (PTO MTD 754-0339A) Could not find a local replacement but ordered a couple of replacement (aftermarket) that should arrive Tuesday. So here are a few of the many questions I need assistance with.
I do not have a manual for the thrower or a diagram for belt installation. Do I need to remove the blower to replaced the belt?
Are there tips and techniques that would make installation less painful? I've entered my model number ands serial number on the CC site but couldn't find any online manuals.
Should the electric PTO be engaged at low or high RPM?
When moving slow, am I slipping a clutch if I don't press the pedal all the way forward?
Just acquired this during one of the worst winters in many years so this is truly a seat of the pants approach to making it to spring.
