Cub Cadet 8354 won't disengage 4 wheel

Hello,

I am a new member and just purchased 8354 with backhoe and front end loader. Only 400 hrs. Unfortunately, I am unable to disengage the front wheel drive after putting it into 4 wheel drive prior to transportation. I am planning on taking it in for service but it will take some time to get transportation arrange. Wondering if there is some easy fix, what or how serious the problem might be. More importantly will I do any damage leaving it in 4 wheel drive if I am only driving it on dirt?

It will not hurt to leave it in 4 WD
The 8354 is the same machine as my older model Kioti DK 35. Just painted yellow and white, with a different loader and backhoe.
I always put my 4 WD in/out while moving with no load on the machine. Goes in/out much easier that way.
Also try lubing the linkage under the tractor where it goes into the transmission.

Used some penetrating oil and lifted the front tires of the ground. With a little coaxing it released and now is working just fine.
